Katie Button and Meherwan Irani are hosting the Nourish & Nest Dinner on August 11th — a collaborative meal between Cúrate and Chai Pani benefiting Haywood Street Community Development's work building permanently affordable housing in downtown Asheville.

We have known Pastor Brian Combs for years now, and the care he shows for our community — from Haywood Street Congregation, to the Downtown Welcome Table, to the Haywood Street Community Development project — has had a lasting impact on us. We have witnessed the way that Haywood Street is uniquely able to support our community members.

This spring, HSCD completed the Lady Gloria Ridge Community on West Haywood Street — 41 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Most are set aside for residents earning 30% or less of the Area Median Income, the bracket most affordable housing programs miss. And where many affordable housing projects convert to market rate after ten years, these units stay affordable permanently.

Proceeds from ticket sales support Haywood Street Community Development's ongoing work in Asheville, as well as their future initiatives to build and maintain affordable housing.

VIP — $500 (limited availability) Arrive at 5:00 p.m. for a pre-dinner bite from the chefs, complimentary reserved parking, a tasting of Van Winkle Special Reserve 12-year bourbon, and time with Katie and Meherwan before the meal begins.
